Manual Export

Want to export specific snips to Obsidian? Here's how:

  1. Open your Snipd app

  2. Go to "You" β†’ "Settings" β†’ "Export & sync"

  3. Tap "Export to Obsidian"

  4. Select the snips you want to export

  5. Click "Export" and open the resulting Markdown file in Obsidian

Each exported snip includes:

  • Your note (AI-generated or edited by you)

  • Transcript of the segment

  • Link to play the original audio

  • Episode metadata (show name, host, publish date)

  • Show notes from the episode

The metadata is formatted to work with Obsidian's Dataview plugin, making it easy to create custom views of your podcast knowledge.

Automatic Sync via Readwise

Want your snips to automatically appear in Obsidian? You can use our Readwise integration:

  1. Set up the Readwise integration in Snipd

  2. Connect Readwise to Obsidian

  3. Your snips will automatically sync to Obsidian through Readwise

This creates a seamless workflow where your podcast highlights appear in Obsidian shortly after you create them in Snipd.

Note for iOS Users

Currently, the Obsidian app doesn't appear in the iOS share menu. As a workaround:

  1. Tap "Copy" in the share menu

  2. Open Obsidian manually

  3. Paste the content into a new note
